Drift Roots is a band based on an intense jazz/rock, jam band influence. they formed in February of 2000 when Joe left his former band, and Jeff left his. and the 2 jammed with another bassist for a while. they recruited a new bass player later that year named austin battles. he was a friend of Jeff and Joe's and never really knew he had a great talent for playing bass until they asked him to jam with them. he was the element that Jeff and Joe were looking for. the chemistry was right and they are quickly making their name known on the local music scene
